Hexcode Marketing has a team of experts in every corner of marketing which means we have the best social media strategists, web designers, graphic designers, and digital ad specialists. But we also have an expert operations manager, also known as the organizer of creative chaos, Paula Giles! We’re going to dive into how she bumps our team to the next level, sets us up for success, and spikes through challenges ensuring every project is completed on time and every goal hits the mark.
Paula grew up in Conway Springs and was very active in sports. After graduation, she went to the University of Central Missouri where she was an integral part of their volleyball team. She then earned her Masters degree from Texas Christian University. Before diving into the world of marketing, she was on the operations side of collegiate sports. When she moved back to Wichita with her husband, she came to Hexcode and started putting processes in place to make the ways we serve our clients more efficient!
What is a professional accomplishment you’re proud of?:
In 2024, I was recognized as a Young Professional in Professional Services. I try to be active in the community and make a positive impact anywhere I can, so it was nice to be recognized as an up-and-coming leader.
What do you like most about your position?:
In my position, I get to work with all of our clients in one way or another. Because of this, I get to build relationships with all of them and celebrate their wins and growth within their businesses. I also enjoy being able to tell the team they did a great job with a particular project when a client lets us know it was successful. That is definitely my favorite part of my job.
What are your favorite tools to use for your position?:
Teamwork is what we use to track and manage all of our clients and projects. When I started working with Hexcode, the platform was used, but not optimized. I was able to collaborate with the team and set Teamwork up so the entire team was able to track their projects in one place, streamlining how projects went through the approval process.
What inspires you?:
Honestly, our team inspires me. Mainly they inspire me to run to Costco when we’re out of snacks or coffee. But seriously, there hasn’t been anything thrown at our team that they can’t handle. Tight deadlines, quick changes, big pivots with strategy, whenever a client comes to us with a major change, they do what they need to and get it done. They’re always learning and growing and working together, so our clients are always taken care of.
How do you keep up with changes in your position?:
I’m constantly communicating with our team about what processes need to be changed as our clients and team grow. Although I’m not on the creative team, I do need to make sure they have everything they need to continue providing our clients with the best marketing services they can. I also turn to social media to see what other agencies or businesses are using to keep their teams organized and see how I can implement that into Hexcode.
Who influences you?:
Our CEO, Chrissy Robben has influenced me by setting an example of perseverance, leadership, and determination. Being a business owner, wife, and mother to 4 active boys is no small feat, and she tackles every challenge with grace and determination. She’s shown me that there’s a way to solve every problem, and when you collaborate and work together, you’re unstoppable.
What do you like most about Hexcode?:
The people are honestly the best part of Hexcode. We have built a culture that fosters creativity, collaboration, and coffee. We are a work-hard and play-hard group and one of our favorite things we do together is our team-building days. When people talk about having a work family, that’s exactly what we have here, and it’s not just the employees. Our clients have become part of the Hexcode family too.
Paula is truly an organizer of chaos, and her ability to streamline processes has taken Hexcode to a new level. From client onboarding to ordering all the swag our team designs to getting the best snacks, she definitely keeps our office running like a well-caffeinated machine.
